Yeah, sure, tell people porting KDE to other platforms to remove whatever they 
don't manage to port.

Yes - we usually remove the old solution only once the new one is in place,
to avoid regressions. It doesn't make sense to regress "because in the future
we'll have better". The future is not a guarantee, in a world of voluntary contributions.
