The - character in icon names is forbidden when using the automatic 
installation. Wouldn't it be simpler to call it kmdr_editor.png? 
( hi32-app-kmdr_editor.png in the sources)

I suppose you could also change the perl script to only substitute the first 
two - with /, but I don't know if some other installation depends on the 
current behaviour.

uh? Have you set the icon variable in Kommander's .desktop file?
