That's exactly the type of stuff that I'd like to see wait until KDE 4.0. 

(Actually I don't think the laptop KCMs should really be there by default, but 
that's another matter.)

I agree with what you're getting at, but people get used to terminology no 
matter how bad it is.  Just like with library interfaces we of course make 
mistakes, but just like library interfaces I think we need to limit how often 
we break backwards compatibility...
