Source incompatibility in klocale.h

Hi,

The new function in kdelibs/kdecore/klocale.h: formatNumber(long) const breaks 
source compatibility since a call to formatNumber( short ) is ambiguous now.

I have no idea how to cleanly resolve this... any ideas?
