They don't _need_ to. 'F' and '.' also don't _need_ to. It's just recommended 
to qp-quote 'F'(rom_) and . (SMTP eod marker) to avoid the quoting with
From
or
..
The same holds true for PGP signed messages, where each occurrence of /^-/ 
will be quoted with prepending "- " (DASH SPACE).

Apart from that: is the patch ok or not?
