Hello All, 

Apologies for missing the last one. Don't know what happened there. Either 
way, this one has double the stuff, so double the fun, eh?

What follows are  the Promo highlights for weeks 45, 46, 47 and 48 2023.

### Things done

* Added plugin to modify the quality of transcoding for PeerTube videos
* Edited and tweaked 6th Megarelease Alpha announcement text
* Promoted KDE's 6th Megarelease Alpha on social media
* Set up and carried out meeting with CACD lab staff and leaders
* Edited, proofread and laid out web announcement for the end of GSoC
* Promoted end of GSoC announcement
* Helped the mentorship team set up a new website for the project
* Edited, proofread and corrected the layout of "Off Theme" part II
* Promoted ending of Wallpaper competition
* Promoted KDE at the Qt World Summit event.
* Promoted Fundraising for Giving Tuesday.
* Promoted Megarelease Beta1 and encouraged testers to submit bugs
* Incorporated messages to encourage donations and supporting memberships into 
most social media, thus increasing the rate of both.
* Implemented several strategies to encourage followers to move from 
proprietary platforms (X, Reddit) to join us on free federated (Mastodon, 
Lemmy, PeerTube) and self-hosted (Discuss) platforms.
* Updated PeerTube to version 6, improving transcoding quality and adding 
features, such as enabling to upload new versions of videos
* Started working with Krita's communication team to publicise their regular 
monthly update bulletin
* Started work on 2024 external events budget and strategy

* Research ways of semi-automatically creating screenshots of software while 
it is being tested (<https://invent.kde.org/teams/automation/issues/-/issues/
14#note_795599>)
* Start to work on Annual Report 2023
* Merchandise for FOSDEM 2024.
* Organize conf.KDE.in

### Ongoing projects and periodic tasks

* Finding and solving mistakes in websites and wikis
* Moderating social media
* Weekly data collection on followers from Twitter, Mastodon and Instagram.
* Daily data collection from mentions of KDE, Kdenlive, Krita, etc., from 
media across the web.
* Uploading and publishing Akademy2023 talks to YouTube and PeerTube
* Collecting data for Quarterly Newsletter and Advisory Board meetings.
* Writing content for Akademy's website
* Collaboration with Startpage

### Discussion points

* Work with sysadmin to see if we can find a reasonable way of creating an 
online Plasma 6 desktop for people to play with
