That's what I did.

I stumbled upon the patch by Davor Ocelic, posted to this list just a few 
days ago and used it as basis for my own patch[1].

The build process still stops missing OpenGL. Patching 
smoke/qt/CMakeLists.txt did not help this time.

Adding -DENABLE_QTOPENGL_SMOKE=off to my cmake call does not seem to 
help...
