Yes, that's the problem, with QTDIR set to that I get the phonon headers. I 
did try changing QTDIR to /usr/include/qt4 before which didn't work. It looks 
the Qt headers have to be directly under <a path>/include. Maybe QTINCDIR or 
similar can be set - I'll have a look.

Anyway, once I got it going as a reference I can try the smoke generator, and 
look at the code so far.
