*It's great to meet you!*

Summer Greeting to all the members of the GCompris Community!

I am Aastha, a sophomore at the Institue of Engineering and Technology
Lucknow, India, pursuing my majors in electronics and data science. I am
passionate about computer science and software technology.

I gravitated towards GCompris because it gives me the space to be creative
with it and build something valuable for the budding minds, and that's
exciting to me! I have a few interests, but lately I’ve been spending quite
a bit of time with cryptography and hashing.

I have been following GCompris from the KDE Season of Kode January 2022
wherein I endeavoured to make a proposal. Later in March, after learning a
bit about the techstack and codebase, I proposed an idea of the Comparator
activity which is a part of my GSOC contribution plan for this summer.

I will be working on the Comparator Activity which will help to build the
intuition about comparison operators, Guess 24 in which 4 numbers are
given randomly, and the user is expected to make the number 24 using the
operations given and the 4 numbers using each number just once and finally,
the Programming tux inspired from the famous MS Logo language which would
help to build computational thinking.

Apart from this, I will also be writng blogs about my progess and general
FAQs which would help the future contributors to begin here. Please find
the blog here <https://thegcomprisivy.wordpress.com/>.

So far, I really enjoyed the process of discovery and getting feedback from
the community. It's exactly why I yearn to be a software engineer and
contribute into Open Source projects. I have already learnt a lot from the
community mentors which helped me to perform better in general. I wish to
be a part of this community for a much longer time than just the GSOC
period.

I simply could not be more grateful to the community for accepting my
proposal and I’m appreciative of the challenges that I am going to
encounter.

Looking forward to an enriching summer with KDE GCompris and Google summer
of code.
