I think you're using the NX server from NoMachine, and not the FreeNX. The FeeNX doesn't support the shadow mode .. only the VNC mode, but I don't know how to use it.

Adrian

I have used it a couple of times:
In the new nxclient version there is a configure->general,desktop->shadow
So you set that up, log in with your usual login, and then a window opens up that let you choose the other user
that you want to shadow.

There are also in the node.conf a few _SHADOW_ variables, and there is an acl file in which you must write
who is allowed to shadow who.
/usr/NX/bin/nxshadowacl
made it from
/usr/NX/bin/nxacl.sample IIRC.

I wrote myself a comment there:
$2 is the shadower
$1 is the shadowed

Yup. And it worked once or twice and stoped working for me
"The nxclient received an error from the server"
Log shows:
Can't open /usr/NX/var/db/running/sessionId{1047196D7DF520BD6767E46CF9DE9CB4}: No such file or directory.
mv: cannot stat `/usr/NX/var/db/running/sessionId{1047196D7DF520BD6767E46CF9DE9CB4}': No such file or directory

:\ I have not tried to figure it out yet.
Hi,

Is it possible to use desktop shadow or vnc modes with freenx? If yes, can you please point to a quick how-to?

Thanks,
