I have FreeNX running on openSUSE 11.3 using the above repository (x86_64).

I vaguely remember your error message and I think it has to do with with what 
has been written in http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:FreeNX_server#openSUSE_11.3 
about the definition of COMMAND_MD5SUM. Make sure md5sum is present and 
usable.
