NOTE: The following _might_ be a little 'off-topic':
I came across this will trying to get compiz to run on the FreeNX
client/localmachine and in the course of upgrading X from:
software.opensuse.org/downloads/Xorg73/openSUSE_10.2

So.... I'm not sure if the following helps?

I ran into a dependency problem (libxcb-render-util.so.0 ) when I
upgraded FreeNX from the an opensuse factory repository.... I since
have gone back (I think it's back) to FreeNX-0.6.0-25.5 on the client
side and I'm running FreeNX-0.6.0-28.1 on three remote machines

xcb.freedesktop.org:
"The X protocol C-language Binding (XCB) is a replacement for Xlib
featuring a small footprint, latency hiding, direct access to the
protocol, improved threading support, and extensibility."

I was able to resolve this dependency by updating from:
software.opensuse.org/downloads/Xorg73/openSUSE_10.2
_and_ manually selecting xcb from within YaST2. From memory this
wasn't automagically selected.

It might be a good idea to run YaST2 outside of any X session?, i.e.
running `init 3` first.

Not sure if this helps?
