What about this line in my sshd log?

Jun 13 23:06:15 yangzhang sshd[15322]: debug1: matching key found:
file /usr/NX/home/nx/.ssh/authorized_keys2, line 1

Nowhere did I try logging using my own username.

Anyway, I'm truly at a loss as to what to do at this point. I tried to
ssh-keygen a new pair and add that to my authorized keys, but this
didn't work (same results - I seem to be able to log in, but the
connection is instantly closed).

ssh -v -i mykey1 nx at localhost
...
debug1: Offering public key: /home/yangzhang/mykey1
debug1: Server accepts key: pkalg ssh-dss blen 435
debug1: read PEM private key done: type DSA
Connection closed by 127.0.0.1
