Fabian,

Here is all the client-side logs.

With server's SAMBA_MOUNT_SHARE_PROTOCOL set to "both":

Right after the connetion, client's "options" file has:
nx/
nx
,cookie
=
40bb3af68257544e35c950f96ce19050
,samba

,session
=session,id=mannose-1000-427010580B48EBAC4A0D7075238CBA7C,display=:
0:1000

"errors" file has:
Loop: WARNING! Connected to remote version 2.1.0 with local version
3.0.0.

"session" file has:
Info: Display running with pid '428' and handler '0xd01dc'.

"stats" file is empty.

When I try to do an smbspool, only "session" file on the client-side
changes and this is added content to what was there before:
Info: Forwarded new connection to SMB server on port '139'.

Now I changed SAMBA_MOUNT_SHARE_PROTOCOL to "cifs", and did "nxserver
--restart".

Here are the client files before smbspool try.

One difference that I see is that, on the server's nxserver.log file,
for the first setup (SAMBA_MOUNT_SHARE_PROTOCOL="both"), I see this:
NX> 709 File-sharing port: 139
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 700 Session id:
mannose-1000-427010580B48EBAC4A0D7075238CBA7C
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 705 Session display: 1000
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 703 Session type: unix-kde
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 701 Proxy cookie:
40bb3af68257544e35c950f96ce19050
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 702 Proxy IP: 127.0.0.1
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 706 Agent cookie:
40bb3af68257544e35c950f96ce19050
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 704 Session cache: unix-kde
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 707 SSL tunneling: 1
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 709 File-sharing port: 139

but for the second setup (SAMBA_MOUNT_SHARE_PROTOCOL="cifs"), I see
this:
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 700 Session id: mannose-1000-
CFDAC87C7BAA25371A81F2846D8F8C8E
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 705 Session display: 1000
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 703 Session type: unix-kde
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 701 Proxy cookie:
ad563ebc63d3c93aefcf9c61680d042e
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 702 Proxy IP: 127.0.0.1
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 706 Agent cookie:
ad563ebc63d3c93aefcf9c61680d042e
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 704 Session cache: unix-kde
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 707 SSL tunneling: 1
NX> 709 File-sharing port: 445
server_nxnode_echo: NX> 709 File-sharing port: 445

So, I think the server is doing the right thing, but somehow client is
not switching to port 445 after server tells it to.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this.

Prakash
