[FreeNX-kNX] Can't use FreeNX from outside LAN

I have installed the FreeNX and NX packages on my Slackware 10.0 box from http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slackbuilds/freenx/

I can access the box using FreeNX fine from a machine within my LAN. But if I connect remotely from outside my LAN, the NX Client times out after being stuck on "Negotiating link parameters". I have a router using port forwarding. I can log in via SSH fine also using a normal user.

I also tried loggin as the "nx" user it works:

ssh nx at xxx.xxx.xxx.xx -i client.id_dsa.key

In the log file I'm getting

Info: Proxy running in server mode with pid '15110'.
Info: Waiting for connection from '127.0.0.1' on port '5028'.
Info: Aborting the procedure due to signal '15', 'SIGTERM'.

 Fatal server error:
NXAGENT: Fatal IO error on display "nx/nx,options=/home/user/.nx/C-xxxxxxxx-1028-81417622B10FBD78B1FB986BC89FD312/options:1028"

In the NX Client itself I'm getting

 NXPROXY - Version 1.5.0

 Copyright (C) 2001, 2005 NoMachine.
 See http://www.nomachine.com/ for more information.

Info: Proxy running in client mode with pid '666'.
Info: Aborting the procedure due to signal '15', 'SIGTERM'.

 Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.
