*If* current versions of OOo and FF would/do know about CUPS (and do 
read the client.conf file, they might be able to interpret it 
correctly, and try to talk to CUPS via localhost:10000.  *However*,
IIRC, CUPS did not support a non-standard port in client.conf in some
previous versions (not sure about the current one). IIRC, I even filed
a bug report/feature request about this one some long time ago.

Probably your only workaround for now is this:

 1. bind KDEPrint/kprinter in the NX session to localhost:10000
    (--> "kprinter" --> "System Options" --> "CUPS server" --> [fill in])
    (or "$EDITOR $(kde-config --localprefix)/share/config/kdeprintrc")

 2. use the "spadmin" utility of OOo to set the print command or default
    printer to "kprinter" (so OOo pipes its output to kprinter, which in
    turn accesses localhost:10000) [Sorry, can't remember the details
    right now, you'll have to fiddle...]
