[FreeNX-kNX] Black Screen after Auth

I'm also seeing the same problem - the connection authenticates
negotiates, comes up correctly, but no window manager is launched.

NoMachine NxClient v1.5.0-132 on Windows XP (current on service
packs/patches)
FreeNX installed from freenx-0.4.4-1.fdr.0.rpm on Fedora Core 4 (updated
weekly via yum), SELinux disabled.
NX installed from nx-1.5.0-0.FC4.1.rpm
    /etc/nxserver/node.conf has been updated with:
        NX_LOG_LEVEL=7
        USER_X_STARTUP_SCRIPT=.xinitrc
        DEFAULT_X_SESSION=/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
    but is otherwise identical to the sample provided.

KDE is working correctly (locally on the machine, and remotely via VNC).
The 'startkde' script works correctly to start KDE from a text console.
Dan's suggestion also works for me (with a KDE twist):
    (cd; DISPLAY=localhost:1000 startkde&)
This doesn't work as a custom command (like Dan) from the client.
Neither does using xterm as a custom command, nor using the 'run
console' command. All I get is a black window with an X windows mouse
pointer.

* Can you sit in front of the would-be NX server and starup KDE, Gnome,
Custom
  there?

* Can you use session type "Unix --> Custom" and configure "xterm" as
the
  command to run? Does it work? Or "Unix --> Custom" and "Run console"?
  Does it work?

* Uhmm.. which NX server version are you running again?

Cheers,
Kurt
