Backporting of Discover/KNS fixes

The backend that triggers these issues in Discover - being the KNS backend
- should still be available though, hence the question.
Given the majority of functionality isn't there i'd imagine that Discover
isn't packaged at all on those platforms but it would be nice to get
confirmation.
