Really don't do that. Point your collection(s) at folders that have<br />

I do not know where you read that but it is wrong. digikam gives you a<br />

view of your local file system. Changes you make in digikam directly<br />

affect the file system.<br />

Well done for checking your understanding of what might happen, that was<br />

a good move. Yes, that is the way digikam works. That is expected and<br />

normal behaviour for digikam.<br />

What is not really mentioned there is that other files that are not<br />

visible in digikam will also get deleted along with the album.<br />

Yes, you are doing things wrong, you setup your collection as the root<br />

of the drive and then you tried to delete non-image albums. Do not do<br />

that, you are working directly with the file system. Deleting things<br />

will really delete them and the only option is whether they go to trash<br />

first or just disappear immediately.<br />
