<p>My own solution now is to use DK to export to local storage (the
last option in the Export tab), and adjust the image properties to
2048 px, while doing the copy. This also gives me a bonus of a
clear "google mirror". That whole directory is then uploaded with
a single drag and drop. I believe there is some advantage of
staying under 2048.</p>

<p>this reminds me, how's exporting to google photos working
these days? For the longest time there were API-key
issues of a limited number of submissions on that single
key for all DK users.<br>
