<div dir="ltr"><div>Thanks, Maik.</div><div><br></div><div>That explains what I need to investigate. I'm on Ubuntu and hacked my own .desktop for Zerene Stacker since the installation is just via a downloaded Java application in a zip. I've tried adding %U to my .desktop file in /usr/share/applications but that hasn't fixed it. I'll dig deeper, but I was looking in completely the wrong place.</div><div><br></div><div>Best wishes,</div><div><br></div><div>Donald</div><div> <br></div><div><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><span style="color:rgb(136,136,136)">-- </span><br><font color="#76923c" face="Arial, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:16px"><b><br></b></span></font><b style="color:rgb(136,136,136)"><span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:rgb(79,129,189)">Donald Hobern</span></b><span style="color:rgb(102,102,102);font-family:Arial,sans-serif;font-size:16px"> / <a href="mailto:dhobern@gmail.com" target="_blank">dhobern@gmail.com</a> / </span><span style="color:rgb(102,102,102);font-family:Arial,sans-serif;font-size:12pt">+61 420511471</span><div><div><a href="https://stangeia.hobern.net/araba-bioscan-project/" style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif" target="_blank">Araba Bioscan Project</a><span style="color:rgb(102,102,102);font-family:Arial,sans-serif"> / </span><a href="https://pterophoroidea.hobern.net/" style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif" target="_blank">Pterophoroidea</a><span style="color:rgb(102,102,102);font-family:Arial,sans-serif"> / </span><a href="https://alucitoidea.hobern.net/" style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif" target="_blank">Alucitoidea</a><span style="color:rgb(102,102,102);font-family:Arial,sans-serif"> / </span><a href="https://bold-au.hobern.net/" target="_blank"><font face="Arial, sans-serif">B</font>OLD Australia</a><span style="color:rgb(102,102,102);font-family:Arial,sans-serif"> </span></div><div><span style="color:rgb(102,102,102);font-family:Arial,sans-serif">ORCID: </span><font color="#666666" face="Arial, sans-serif"><a href="https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6492-4016" target="_blank">0000-0001-6492-4016</a> </font><span style="color:rgb(102,102,102);font-family:Arial,sans-serif">/ </span><a href="https://stangeia.hobern.net/" style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif" target="_blank">Blog</a> <span style="color:rgb(102,102,102);font-family:Arial,sans-serif">/ <a href="https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/people/dhobern" target="_blank">iNaturalist</a> / <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/dhobern/" target="_blank">Flickr </a>/ <a href="https://github.com/dhobern" target="_blank">GitHub</a> / <a href="https://scicomm.xyz/@dhobern" target="_blank">Mastodon</a></span></div></div></div></div></div><br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Sun, 29 Sept 2024 at 17:37, Maik Qualmann <<a href="mailto:metzpinguin@gmail.com" target="_blank">metzpinguin@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex">What platform do you use digiKam on?<br>

Normally digiKam starts the programs in the "Open with..." menu controlled by <br>
the corresponding *.desktop file. There is a parameter for how files are passed <br>
to the executable file, e.g. %u, %U, %f or %F. The case determines whether the <br>
files are passed as a list or whether new instances are started. Lowercase <br>
means new instances.<br>
