thanks Maik<br>
<br>
I only change this option for perfoming a test on 1 or2 files to
investigate the problem with DNG on DXO and set it back once test is
done. I hope that changing tis option without making any change on
the file is not creating another XMP (file.ext.XMP) , do you confirm
?<br>
<br>
can you clarifiy what you mean by <br>
"<span style="white-space: pre-wrap">I tend to use sidecars only for "real" RAW files if the option for compatible </span><span
style="white-space: pre-wrap">file name sidecars is enabled</span>"<br>
is there another way for DNG files ?<br>
<br>
regards<br>

<pre class="moz-quote-pre" wrap="">Constantly changing this option is not a good idea. It will result in sidecars
being created in both file name variants. So you will already have 2 sidecars
for some/many images. The initial scan will now find the other sidecars with
the changed file date and will scan the file with the respective sidecars again.
We already have bug reports about either applying sidecars only to "real" RAW
files or creating a way to define file types that should receive sidecars.
I tend to use sidecars only for "real" RAW files if the option for compatible
file name sidecars is enabled.

<pre class="moz-quote-pre" wrap="">Hi all
today I have configured DK 8.3 with the option "sidecar filename are
compatible with commercial programs"
This is working fine with DXO for the raw files, but there is a problem
with DNG files, that would require to unset this option.
Just wondering the impact of unsetting this option ? I did it and
restarted DK , but the finding of new elements is taking much more time
than before ? What is behind this change ? (today I have set the option
again)
thanks for your help
