These both have XMP sidecars. Any editing performed in Darktable is written to the xmp sidecar.</p><p class="ox-cd8efb9389-MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">It seems as if Digikam is not reading the updated xmp sidecar.</p><p class="ox-cd8efb9389-MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;">Is this normal behaviour, or is there a way to update the thumbnails and previews in Digikam after the raw files have been modified?</p></div></blockquote><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Digikam can read the updated xmps from darktable.</p><p>But darktable edits are stored as instructions *for darktable*. Digikam <br>doesn't understand those instructions, so it cannot use them recreate a <br>thumbnail. Nor can it read the dt database to recover a cached thumbnail or <br>preview (the cached previews don't have the same basename as the original <br>images).</p><p>Oh, and darktable doesn't *modify* any raw files (or other input files), so <br>that can't give you the edit results either.<br></p></body></html>
