<p>I have my collection on a NAS. It is shared to clients via CIFS.</p>
<p>Each client may have their own Digikam installation and their own
digikam.db and their own tags, etc. locally.</p>
<p>But the actual photos reside on the NAS and in a shared folder
structure.</p>
<p>Each night, I use Sigal[1] to generate a static web gallery from
the collection. <br>
</p>
<p>This collection is served using a simple static webserver. Any
webserver such as nginx, apache, etc. will do.</p>
<p>The gallery can be accessed by mobile devices such as mobile
phones, ipads, etc. when they are on the LAN. When they are
external, they may use a VPN.<br>
