<p>Hi Gilles,</p>
<p>I just read through that, and while I value the
excellent documentation for Digikam, I think that from a
user experience perspective the user should not really
have to consult the documentation for such a mundane
task ask to empty trash. Especially since there is
already an establish defacto pattern for hos much of
this stuff works in other applications.</p>
<p>From the documentation:</p>
<blockquote>
<div style="box-sizing:border-box">
<ul style="box-sizing:border-box;margin:0px 0px 24px;padding:0px;list-style:outside;line-height:24px">
<li style="box-sizing:border-box;list-style:outside;margin-left:24px">
<p style="box-sizing:border-box;line-height:24px;font-size:16px;margin:0px"><b style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">Undo</b>:
to restore only the last entry in the trash-bin.</p>
</li>
<li style="box-sizing:border-box;list-style:outside;margin-left:24px">
<p style="box-sizing:border-box;line-height:24px;font-size:16px;margin:0px"><b style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">Restore¨</b>:
to restore selection of files from the
trash-bin.</p>
</li>
<li style="box-sizing:border-box;list-style:outside;margin-left:24px">
<p style="box-sizing:border-box;line-height:24px;font-size:16px;margin:0px"><b style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">Delete</b>:
to remove<span> </span><b style="box-sizing:border-box;font-weight:700">permanently</b><span> </span>the
items selection or all items from the trash-bin.</p>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
</blockquote>
<p>I propose a low effort improvement:</p>
<p>The buttons should at least have these specifications
listed in the "mouse hover hint". I don't know what the
right term for this is, but what I mean is that if the
user hovers the buttons with the mouse, there should be
a quick help text shown. <br>
</p>
An example of where this is used elsewhere in the
application is here: <img src="cid:1860206d076874847d41" alt=""> </div>

<div>It's a "tooltip" <br>

discoverability of the application.</p>

<p>Hmm... I don't see this on my 7.9 DK on Windows. When I hover the
three buttons in Trash no tooltip is shown. I have tried hovering
for 10 seconds. When I hover the buttons in the upper toolbar,
like the "Full screen" button, the tooltip is shown after 2
seconds.</p>
<p>So if this has been implemented in 7.9 it seems it is not working
correctly - not on my machine at least. Is anyone else seeing the
same behavior?</p>
