Hi Gilles,

Thank you for a quick response!

I have tried this, and got two problems:

1) it does not seem to work. I believe this is due to the fact
that I use small icons in the Albums list. For some reason the
album thumbnails are not shown when the albums list uses small
icons... I hope this is just an error and will be fixed. Not sure
how to report it, though?

2) This approach seems to only allow me to define an icon for an
album if that icon if from a photo that is directly inside that
album. I really do not like this limitation. For example, I could
have an album called Germany in which I would have several
subalbums from Germany. The main album I would like to have an
icon of the German flag. But I do not have any photos immediately
inside the Germany album.

Example of what I mean: Consider this dir listing:

/photos/2022/2022-07-02-germany
/photos/2022/2022-07-02-germany/2022-07-02-berlin
/photos/2022/2022-07-02-germany/2022-07-02-berlin/img_441.jpg
/photos/2022/2022-07-02-germany/2022-07-02-berlin/img_447.jpg
/photos/2022/2022-07-02-germany/2022-07-02-hamburg
/photos/2022/2022-07-02-germany/2022-07-02-hamburg/img_495.jpg
/photos/2022/2022-07-02-germany/2022-07-02-hamburg/img_498.jpg

I want the icon/thumbnail of /photos/2022/2022-07-02-germany to
be a German flag. But this folder has zero photos directly in it.

Hi,

I typically have my digikam album list in this compact
view using small icons. See screenshot below.

The list is long and I would love to be able to either
define custom icons for the albums or alternatively at
least define custom colors for the album icons. This way I
can make the few albums I am currently working on stand
out in the list. However, I have not been able to find
where this is done. Maybe it is not possible?

If it is not currently possible to do this in the GUI,
would it be feasible to implement? I think it would be as
very similar functionality already exists for People list
and Tags list. Would you consider implementing this?

If this is already implemented, I hope someone will
advise on how to do this.
