<p>I've got it.</p>
<p>The thumbs database was monitored by Synology Drive, which
constantly watches specified folders for changes and syncs them to
the NAS. Now, the database lies in a folder that is not monitored
and everything works fine.</p>

(MariaDB >= 10.6 should not be used with digiKam on Windows
at this time). And a local SQLite thumbnail database stored in
the Documents directory. I can't reproduce any problem,
everything works as it should.</p>
