On duckduckgo the following search term gives better results:

site:mail.kde.org inurl:digikam-users dng

FWIW, this form is given in the Mailman FAQ:
https://wiki.list.org/DOC/How%20do%20I%20search%20the%20archives%20of%20the%20mailman-users%20mailing%20list%3F

I agree that the mailing list archive is a valuable resource, and
searching it is hard/frustrating, as it is for mailman archives in general.

I suggest that information about how to search the archive is important
enough to justify putting it on the "digiKam Support" page itself,
https://www.digikam.org/support/, next to the link to the mailing list
archive. For example something like:

Search the archive using the following search in usual search engines:
site:mail.kde.org inurl:digikam-users my search topic

It appears that mailman itself does not include a search engine for its
archives, but sites can set up a separate search interface, such as
mailman itself has:
https://mail.python.org/archives/list/mailman-users@python.org/
As far as I can see, kde does not have a search interface for the lists
served on mail.kde.org. For example the kde lists support page:
https://kde.org/support/mailinglists/
points to the usual pipermail archive interface for the 22 years of the
kde list:
https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde/

(This message is not intended to be critical of anyone, just collecting
information.)
