<br>
I use digiKam Version 7.3.0 (Build date: 13.07.21 08:50) on my Mac Version Mojave (10.14.6).<br>
<br>
I find that digiKAM is really a great software, but one thing bothers me extremely. When I’m in the Thumbnail view and make a double click on one thumbnail, then I’m in the Preview function. Then I start to enter a describing text (Captions) and after about 30 seconds the preview function exits automatically and throws me out of my text. This is really annoying and I can’t find a setting to avoid this. I can’t believe that this is intentional. The same is in the full screen mode - this also exits after about 30 seconds. What is wrong here?<br>
Another thing is the speed of HEIC photos. On my system (Mac Mini with 4 processors and 16GB memory) it takes about 5 seconds to display a HEIC photo (ca. 4 MB) in preview or fullscreen mode, whereas a JPG photo takes max. 1 second. Outside of digiKam the time to display a HEIC photo is normal (1 second). Is there a way to accelerate this?<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>About HEIC delay to decompress the images, look this entry in bugzilla :</div><div><br></div><div><a href="https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441648">https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441648</a></div><div><br></div><div>Best</div><div><br></div><div>Gilles Caulier</div></div></div>
