I started with a windows and mac but had issues with “local” being slightly different (in US), it kept rebuilding the database each time I switched, so for now I have two windows 10 boxes accessing. The database is on a synology NAS, served by Mariadb. I think I could make the mac play nice if the “locale” check had a choice to “ignore”.

Sent from my iPad

On Oct 21, 2021, at 8:29 PM, Fred Wilhelm <siliconfalcon@live.com> wrote:

Sometimes nobody just doesn't know the answer. I don't know the specifics of a
Docker installation, nor do I know what a "Guacamole" client is. When I google
for the word, a dish of Mexican cuisine comes out. Yes, I also found it to be
an HTML5 web application, but I don't know it. Nobody can know everything.

Usually connecting to a MySQL server is not a big deal. But without some debug
logs from the terminal we cannot help. In addition, digiKam is not really
suitable for multi-OS, since the collection base path is different between
Windows and Linux. There is an undocumented solution for this and I plan to
make this available in the GUI, but currently it is not possible without
manual changes to the MySQL DB.
