I decided to migrate to the ‘MySQL Internal’ option.

The 2 specified binaries ‘mysql_install_db’ & ‘mysqld’ were ticked in the migration window. I rec’d the following error msg:

An error occurred during the internal server start.
Details: Could not start database initializer.
Executable: /Applications/digiKam.org/digikam.app/Contents/lib/mariadb/bin/mysql_install_db
Arguments: --defaults-file=/Applications/digiKam.org/digikam.app/Contents/Resources/digikam/database/mysql-global.conf, --basedir=/Applications/digiKam.org/digikam.app/Contents/, --datadir=/Users/xxxxxx/Pictures/digikam_mysql_db_folder/.mysql.digikam/db_data
Process error: Unknown error

I had to uninstall & re-install DK as it would no longer launch successfully. Have reverted to DK's SQLite database for now.

I’ve read docs, FAQ’s and searched many forums without getting a clear answer.

Is there a way to achieve a ‘MySQL Internal’ config after installing on MacOS 10.14.6 from the current mac pkg file?

Installing MacPorts seems to potentially introduce other issues re old versions, performance, etc. (I may be wrong on this).

I have chosen DK after a long (expensive) search trying many image organisers… I’m very impressed with DK’s design. It is the *only* image organiser that I’ve found that might successfully replace Picasa, which I’ve been using for many, many years.

Congratulations on the huge effort which has led to DK being such a good product.

To sum up… is there a way to achieve a ‘MySQL Internal’ config after installing on MacOS 10.14.6 from the current mac pkg file?

Regards,

Gary
