<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0;margin-right:0;">The following happened:<br />I typed comments for pictures of an album in an xls-file. <br />Using ' sqlite3' I inserted those comments into my 'digikam4.db'.<br />Opening 'digikam'(Version 7.1.0) I saw those imported comments under the thumbnails, however not in the 'caption' section.<br />I selected all the pictures in that album and clicked on '/Item/Reread Metadata From File'.<br />Now all the comments appeared also in the caption-section.<br />The same happened for a selected picture when I clicked on '/Item/Edit Metadata' and chose the XMP-tab, concluding with apply.<br />Can anyone explain to me, please, what happens.<br />And is there a way to shortcut this procedure so the comments go straight to the captions?<br />Are metadata by default stored as exif data?<br />Thanks for all advice! </p>
