option to clean up the database when the metadata is read in again.
Now read the metadata again for the corresponding images via the item menu or
via the album menu.

:( guess i disabled it at start, not knowing what i did...
But i do not quite understand how to "read in the image metadata again
with the temporary
activation of the database cleanup". OK, menu Maintanance, cleanup
database, core and additionals (faces, at least), and sync metadata with
db... i hope not to loose any other infomations....

<pre class="moz-quote-pre" wrap="">This problem arises when face markings are already present in the image
metadata, but digiKam is configured in such a way that no face metadata is
written into the images. Then the face regions are doubled in the wrong
position. You have to read in the image metadata again with the temporary
activation of the database cleanup.

<pre class="moz-quote-pre" wrap="">Hei,
i accidentially managed to rotate several faces views (by a keyboard
shortcut), and while finding, out what happened, and trying to recover
(at the end by auto-rotate all to exif information), i noticed there
are many ghost faces markings, i.e. additional markings in some images.
Those do not marking any face, sometimes there is just one, somtimes
many additional faces markings. I did nevernotice such ghost markings
before.
I did a short crosscheck on a not intersecting, other faces collection,
and did not find any ghost markings there.
Does anyon have a idea, how this may happen, and how to clean up? It
would be heavy to check all images of this faces colletion manually.
Cheers,
Gerhard
