Hi all,

I can rename folders at all levels of parent & child with On1 2020.1, DXO PhotoLab 3, Adobe Bridge and Windows File Explorer. Each of these recognizes changes made by the others. I an still receiving a “Failed to rename Album” error in
digiKam 6.4.0 (Windows 10). I have 100s of folders to rename and would really like to do it as part of a digiKam workflow. Any thoughts, solutions? With thanks, Alan

Just a follow-up to your points. Turned on my laptop first thing this morning. No apps running that would access C:\Pictures nor G:\Pictures. Closed “File Explorer” window that opens when USB drive is connected. digiKam still cannot rename
any parent folder. Can only rename the last, lowest order child folder. I also installed 6.4.0 and I still get the failed to rename error.

Yes, renaming or deleting folders can fail under Windows if they are in use
and locked by Windows.

Folders are locked when
- subfolders are open in Explorer
- folders are part of a Windows network share
- a preview image was previously opened in digiKam

At the last point we have to see if there are still open file handlers and fix
this.
