I have the same openSUSE on my laptop at work and the same digiKam version.<br>
There are no problems when changing to the next the image In the Image Editor.<br>
The selected image changes in the album view. also. I have no idea why it<br>
should not work for you.<br>

I just updated to digikam 5.8.0-186.3 on opensuse leap 42.3 and the<br>
