With this commit, the problem should be fixed with the launch of kuickshow.
Hi Maik,

thanks for your work, but as a simple user I don't know what to do with this commit :-)

I am on opensuse 42.1 and use the rpms from buld.opensuse.org/KDE:Extra

Do I just have to wait until an update is available in this repo?

Thanks,

In my distribution, kuickshow is no longer available. Can you post the
start command line from the kuickshow desktop service file (right-click
properties on the icon)?

XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 kuickshow -caption "%c" %U

it also works from dolphin/icon/command line without -caption "%c" %U
in digikam it makes no difference with or without these additions
I also tried without XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1, that opens kuickshow but
with a black filled window
Hi,

another small thing: I use kuickshow for various tasks, and I could
always select one or more images in album view and then right-click and
"open with... -> kuickshow".

Kuickshow still appears in the context menu (dk 5.3.0), but clicking it
does just nothing. The other entries (gimp etc. work). Kuickshow works
in all other surroundings (from dolphin, from command line, from
desktop...). What can I do to start it successfully from digikam, too?

(Please do not rant about my use of a very old program like kuickshow;
for me it is the perfect one for some work I often do and there is
nothing that comes close to it for my personal purposes and likes)
