I know that color theme rendering depend of widget style used with KDE<br>
application. I recommend to use Oxygen (the best). Look in Setup/Miscs for<br>
details.<br>

Else color themes are provided by KDE Control Panel. Did you install it. Do<br>
you run KDE desktop,<br>

Once in a while, I encounter this problem, too. When friends<br>
send me their tagged fotos, digikam happily imports their<br>
tags (from image XMP), too. Since everybody uses different<br>
tags, this somehow "polutes" my tag tree.<br>
<br>
My workflow in those cases:<br>
1. Go to the album, which contain the newly imported<br>
pictures from my friend<br>
2. select all pictures<br>
3. in the right side view "Captions/Tags" I enable the<br>
button "[view] Tags already assigned"<br>
4. uncheck all checkboxes (to remove the tags from the<br>
fotos)<br>
5. "Apply"<br>
<br>
This removes all tags from the fotos, but the tags remain in<br>
the tag tree.<br>
<br>
6. I go through the left side view "Tags" and delete all<br>
tags, which are assigned to 0 fotos (the number of<br>
fotos which have this tag assigned can be seen in<br>
braces after the tag name (e.g. "Uncle Jon (5)").<br>
<br>
<br>
Feature requests:<br>
<br>
To speed up this process, the following two ideas came to my<br>
mind:<br>
<br>
<br>
a) "Delete all tags of a foto with one click"<br>
<br>
This function could be added in the right side view<br>
"Captions/Tags" as additional action at the "More"-button.<br>
With safety query "Are you sure to remove all tags from the<br>
selected fotos?"<br>
This would speed up step 4.<br>
<br>

This list would be presented to the user:<br>
"Do you really want to delete the following tags?<br>
- sample tag 1<br>
- sample tag 2<br>
- ..."<br>
This would speed up step 6.<br>

Back in Dec 2013, I tried to compile Digikam for OS X via Homebrew[1].<br>
Although I was able to build, I ran into a number of runtime issues.<br>
Since then, there hasn't been much activity in homebrew-kde, so I'm<br>
glad to hear of effort going into producing an easy to use Digikam<br>
binary package for OS X.<br>
