So on my working openSUSE 13.1/KDE 4.14.1 with Digikam 4.3.0,<br>
the installed package is <b>libkexiv2-11 version 4.14.1-1.1</b><br>
<br>
It would appear packager applied your fix to 2-11 (a guess on my
part).<br>
So far, so good, DK 4.3.0.<br>

Also note that DK 4.3.0 packages might be different in the default and "KDE

I just updated and Digikam 4.3.0 installed. It is version 4.3.0-18.1-x86_64
The package libexiv2-12 version 0.23-9.1.3 is installed.
