Yes, since 3.x release (if i remember), scan at startup option have<br>
been removed.<br>

In fact the scan with version < 3.x was completed during splash-screen<br>
and application taken a while to start.<br>

With 3.x, only directory scan is processed with splash-screen, and<br>
after digiKam init, the album contents is processed in background. You<br>
can see the progress indicator on bottom right of albumgui.<br>
<br>
Sound like in your context, you want to disable album registration in<br>
database when splas-screen is visible. Right ?<br>
