It should even be able to work offline for some modules of it. Indeed during the import step digikam creates and stores the thumbnails in db as well as the pictures' attributes. For tagging or geotagging purpose, one could go offline, document the pictures and when storage units are back, apply the changes or synchronise them. </div><div><br></div><div>Is the use case somewhere in digikam's roadmap?</div><div><br></div><div>Kind regards,</div><div><br></div><div>Guenole</div><br>Gilles Caulier <caulier.gilles@gmail.com> a écrit :<br>2014-07-12 11:16 GMT+02:00 Christoph Huckle <chrihuc@gmail.com>:<br>> Hey,<br>><br>> correct it is the registration during the splash screen.<br>> But actually (as I am trying to work via VPN right now) without having the<br>> thumbs locally the performance is anyway not good enough.<br>> I mean to say, I realize that even with a faster start up, I will not be<br>> able to work remotely.<br>><br>> In case you have some tweaks I'm happy to try them, if not I have to work at<br>> home ;)<br><br>Not i'm know.<br><br>Perhaps Marcel can indicate if a tweak can be tune in code (scan is<br>hardcoded of course), and if hack work, restore an option in<br>Setup/Misc to turn on/off album scan at startup.<br><br>Gilles Caulier<br>_______________________________________________<br>Digikam-users mailing list<br>Digikam-users@kde.org<br>https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users<br></body>
