<p>I got this quite frequently, when the previous Digikam session has not ended properly. My guess is you have some Digikam process still running and preventing DB access. You need to kill it, so that Digikam can be launched properly next time.<br>

    Hi All<br>

    I run DigiKam 3.5.0 on KDE 4.12.3 (Kubuntu)
    
    
     and until today have had no problems with it. Now when I run it
    I get empty boxes where the thumbnails (both jpg and dng) should be.
    Dolphin (file manager) still displays thumbnails ok. When I run
    Digikam from the command line I get the following error repeated
    (not sure if it's related.<br>

      Waited but giving up now. </blockquote>
