Hello,

Sorry to bump in after so much has been said. I only wanted to say that I've often had the problem Marie-Noelle describes (that is: performing a large selection of separate thumbnails from within a folder with many pictures) using Ctrl-clic but, wince I release Ctrl to scroll down, sometimes I'd miss the combination and loose my selection.

This has reminded me of the single thing I miss from my ACDsee days under windows: the picture basket. It was (is?) a small panel under the thumbnails where I could drag&drop pictures creating thus a list. When I was done going through all pictures (which could belong to different albums), I applied whatever tag or modification to all at once. The great thing about it was that once in the basket, the selection wouldn't get away by accident. And I would only move to the basket as many images as I had on the screen at a given time, so no fear of losing anything when scrolling.

I think that would be a great addition to digikam.

Nicolas

On Sun, Nov 24, 2013 at 11:25 PM, Marie-Noëlle Augendre <mnaugendre@gmail.com> wrote:
yes, but anyway you can't look at 1500 pictures at the same time..

I don't have albums to look at all the pictures at the same time.
