Thanks for pointing me to systemsettings, which apparently has been installed when DigiKam was installed.<div><br></div><div>In Application Appearance/Colors, tab Colors one can choose instead of 'Common Colors' 'Tooltip'.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Changing the background didnt help, but changing the foreground color to white made the tooltips visible.</div><div><br></div><div>There must be something wrong there, but it solved the problem for now.</div>

</div>Coming from a different place (trying to get single click to work in<br>
Gnome) I know the answer to this. The kcontrol applet no longer exists<br>
in KDE4, it has been replaced by systemsettings (yes, it's really called<br>
that, with no K in it). Install systemsettings and you should have what<br>
you need.<br>
