Hi Philip,

Thanks a lot for these ppa. I think they are very useful. Maybe you
could get an account on DigiKam website to post a small blog entry
when you update your ppas. For the beta a nightly build would be
useful as well.

Thanks for your work.
I will keep the PPAs as they are for now. If I would make PPAs
with only Digikam stuff then I have to make two different PPAs
anyway. One for standard Ubuntu repositories and one with kubunt
backports. Digikam 2.0 need dependencies from KDE 4.6.x to build
so I would have to have its own PPA anyway.

I'll upload digikam 2.0 beta3 as soon I have done some clean ups
with the packaging code. Right now I have made all stuff from
digikam-software-compilation for myself and bundled them into two
packages. I will split them up to make the parts easier to
maintain over time with separate packages the Ubuntu/Debian way
and a much nicer way to handle it all. I hope to be able to upload
it into my kubuntu-backports PPA in the next few days.
n digiKam 2.0 b3 is ready to roll.

Hope you guys are patient.
I am more a photographer than a linux-expert and I have used
your
"extra" happily . When I bought new equipment tree weeks ago
had to
use also "backports" yesterday. Worked fine too. Thanks!

It would be good to have the possibility to easily choose what
one
wants and sometimes the only solution is a beta-version but
usually
the stable version is what people like me need because we use
this "in
production".

So I think that the need is for both an up-to date stable
version and
also for a beta version for this distribution (10.10). Of
course this
is more complicated for you. But it is great that you do this
when
canonical don't!
The extras don't bother me although I possibly don't need them
(or
don't know the benefits)

Thanks for your great work!
