The "Export to remote computer" function is in the Export menu (along with Export to Facebook, Flickr, etc.).  I'm using digikam 1.5 on ubuntu 10.10.<div><br></div><div>I used the function to copy a selection of photos (selected by specific tag) to a removable usb drive.<br>

My solution was simple:<br>
1.) I tag all of the images throughout my system that I want to place in<br>
the book (for instance tag as "my book1").<br>
2.) Create a new folder to hold the images.<br>
3.) Sort my entire images on the "my book" tag, then select all.<br>
4.) Copy over to the new folder<br>
