Small update : I've upgraded digikam to 1.2.0. Same result with quick
search in the bottom of the digikam window BUT with advanced search, if
I search about a parent tag present in the hierarchy in XMP, it works
!!! There is a difference between the search in the left bar and the
one at the bottom...<br>

<pre wrap="">OK !!! The XMP data are written, with hierarchy !
BUT... when i search with the rapid search text area at the bottom of digikam window, the search seems not to be performed on XMP data, because search about parent tag in hierarchy don't return any pictures, even if they include all the hierarchy tag in XMP data......
Thanks,
G.

Got XMP metadata right sidebar, and switch on full tags list filter.
digiKAm XMP namespace is there (by default it's cached)

<pre wrap="">And note there is a write in XMP when i "write metadata to image" : the "create date" attribute. So I think the XMP writing is OK. But no tag, and the tag is WRITTEN in IPTC (without hierarchy).

XMP si supported if Exiv2 is compiled with right open, else...
Exiv2 use Adobe XMP sdk. Some distro don't like this...
I recommend to use last Exiv2 0.19.0

<pre wrap="">OK Gilles, thanks. But it's not clear for me.
I've Digikam 1.1.0. When I tag a picture (drag and drop tag from right bar), no info is written in IPTC neither XMP. When I use the "Write metadata to images", the tag is written in IPTC (withou hierarchy) and NO TAG is written in XMP...
Where am i wrong ?
Thanks,
G.

Due to limitation of tag text size and char encoding from IPTC, tags
hierarchy have been moved from IPTC to XMP metadata. That all...

<pre wrap="">Hi,
I've a problem. Before, when I tag a picture with the tag Country/Morocco/Casablanca, all the hierarchy was included in the metadata, so i can perform a search on the tag Morocco and find all the pictures tagged with Morocco children tags...
Now, since Digikam 1.1.x I think, only the last tag is included, i.e. Casablanca. Searching the tag Morocco don't find the picture tagged Casablanca : too bad.
It seems to me there was before an option to configure the behaviour about hierarchy include or not... I can't find it in 1.1. No such option in new Digikam, or hidden in too much secret place (for me...) in digikam configuration menu )-:
Thanks in advance,
G.
