I'm not happy with the way left panels handle albums.

If I have View -> Album sub-tree checked

what I get is the top level album's pix then each sub album in order.
This is NOT what I want. If I KNEW what sub album it was in I'd go there.

What I want is ALL the pix in that album arranged by whatever sort order I've chosen.

Similarly with tags. If I have View -> Tags sub-tree checked, I get the tags sorted by album.
No. Munge them together.

Actually how about this as a general treatment for hierarchial attributes:

Default: Whatever View is currently set for:
Right click:
Ungroup ( = flatten -- lump everything together)
Group by sub-foo (foo = albums, tags)
Group by alt category (E.g. if foo = albums, group by tag)

Sort albums by tag means that a given picture appears N times if it has N tags.

Within that allow sort tags flat or sort tags hierarchial.

Anyone agree?

Am I making sense?

--
Sherwood Botsford
Sherwood's Forests
Warburg, Alberta T0C 2T0
http://www.sherwoods-forests.com
