can "Find duplicates" consider raw and jpg of same image to not be duplicates?

I keep my photos in two kinds of directories, one for raw (.cr2) files
and another for (.jpg) files, although for historical reasons, some
directories have jpg and cr2 in the same location.

When I scan my directories for duplicates, it reports duplicates for
each .cr2 / .jpg pair when in the same location.  I would like to
suppress this.

If I set the search parameters to "files with extension =.cr2", and set
the duplicate search parameters "restrict_to=Albums but not tags" and
"restriction=restrict to reference album", things work relatively well.
However, in those cases where jpg and crt are in the same directory, the
jpg is considered a duplicate of the cr2.  Is there any way to avoid this?

Ideally, I would like to be able to tell the duplicate search to
consider only specified extensions.  Hence if I tell it jpg, it would
only compare jpg's to jpg's; if I tell it (jpg+cr2), it would search for
duplicates over all the combinations of jpg and cr2.  I.e. if I consider
the search results to be a set, search for duplicates should only return
duplicates within that set.

Thanks in advance for suggestions!
