[digiKam-users] 7.4.0 is remarkably slow ... is this normal?

Now that I'm using 7.4.0, I'm finding that it is taking forever to do simple operations that in 6.4.0 were never in-the-blink-of-an-eye but would take a minute or two.  I tagged a few hundred photos "2021" and clicked apply, then went to dinner, and I'm back and it's still only at 34%.  This can't be right.  Have I done something wrong or can I tweak settings to allow this to happen faster?
