Not really comparing. (and it was the 5.9 actually, my fault) I just started 
the appimage 6.0.3. Saw that visually nothing much had changed and wanted to 
start to process an image with rawtherapee. "Open as", and emptyness. 

This under ubuntu 19.04 with KDE, all updates done.
